Vertigo Relief | San Francisco Chiropractor
San Francisco / Financial District residents – are you suffering from vertigo? Perhaps you’ve already tried medication or physical therapy? You might want to add chiropractic care to your treatment routine.
Consider this research study of 60 patients with vertigo, as reported in the November 8, 2006, issue of the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research.
In this study, 56 of the 60 patients reported experiencing some form of physical trauma before the vertigo began. Twenty-five had been in automobile accidents; 16 had incurred a sports injury from skiing, bicycling, or horseback riding; and six reported a slip and fall in icy conditions. All of them experienced trauma to either their head or neck area.
All 60 patients had vertical subluxations, or misalignments of one or more vertebrae in the spinal column.
All 60 of the study subjects received chiropractic care to correct the misalignments. All of the patients had a positive response to the chiropractic treatment, though the responses took from one to six months. Forty-eight of the patients were symptom-free within six months. The remaining 12 patients experienced a decrease in either the severity or frequency of their episodes.
Why does correcting subluxations improve the health of a vertigo patient? Recall that the spine houses and protects the spinal cord and the nervous system, which delivers messages from the brain to the body and back. As long as the communications system is unimpeded, the body functions as it should.
Misalignments in the spine put excessive pressure on the spinal cord, interfering with the delivery of those messages. Much the way misaligned tires on a San Francisco road keep your car from performing at its peak, misaligned vertebrae impair your body’s ability to function at its best.
Chiropractors who are trained in Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP) can correct such misalignments by realigning the spine and restoring the nervous system’s ability to communicate with the rest of the body. CBP – the most researched and results-oriented corrective chiropractic technique – is dedicated to rehabilitation and reshaping of the spine to restore your body’s health.
