MRT is a soft tissue therapy designed to reduce the scar tissue which forms within injured or imbalanced muscles, tendons and ligaments.
Have you ever had a massage which felt great while it was happening, but the next day those knots in your shoulders and back were still there?
That’s because the scar tissue within the muscles was not reduced and the bio-mechanical problem which caused those knots to form in the first place was in no way addressed.
The therapy itself is similar to some forms of massage. It consists of a gentle pressure being applied to the tissue as it is brought through its full range of motion. This accomplishes two goals simultaneously. It increase range of motion and strengthens the tissue by breaking apart fibers of scar tissue.
